What Happens When a Founder Reads 15 PMF Frameworks and Still Has No PMF
Fifteen frameworks consumed. Three pivots executed. Still no PMF. This trajectory comes up often enough in diagnostic conversations to be a recognisable pattern. And the frameworks usually weren't wrong. The problem was the cognitive filtering: each one was being used to confirm the original hypothesis rather than genuinely test it. Lean Startup said validate quickly — so he designed experiments that couldn't return a negative result. Jobs-to-be-Done said understand the job — so he interviewed customers until he found framing that matched the thesis. The framework is only as good as the person running it. When the same person is also doing the filtering, you need something that sits outside that loop entirely.
