From Diagnosis to Protocol: How Scored Patterns Convert to Business Actions

The difference between a diagnosis and a protocol is specificity. A diagnosis says: your information filtering is creating blind spots in how you interpret customer feedback. A protocol says: in your next five customer conversations, ask only questions — don't explain, don't reframe, don't defend. Document every answer verbatim. Review it with your co-founder by Thursday. The diagnosis names the pattern. The protocol changes the conditions under which it operates. Behaviour change research consistently shows that vague intentions fail and specific implementation intentions succeed. A diagnosis without a protocol is a precise description of a problem you're not going to fix.
